Info About Lipozap

Lipozap is supposed to help you zap away those unwanted bulges. People with weight problems often have to resort to surgery to get rid of their excess fat. Lipozap, a new procedure developed by MedAesthetica Medical Group, Inc. claims to reduce fat without any surgical procedures involved. Lipozap is said to have minimal side effects and needs barely any recuperation time. But, there are skeptics who feel that Lipozap may not be a long term solution for people with obesity problem.

What does the Lipozap procedure involve? It's a non-invasive procedure, supposed to eliminate fat and aid in inch loss. Lipozap can be used on any part of the body and the procedure involves the use of a VelaSmooth anti cellulite machine, infrared heat and radio frequency (RF) waves. The device massages the skin and the heat and RF waves break down the fat cells under the skin. And then the fat-dissolving drug phosphatidylcholine is administered to the patients.

How long does it take for any results to be visible? Lipozap claims that four sessions are usually enough for the results to show. Moreover, Lipozap is said to be cheaper than liposuction. A question a lot of people would wonder if would the Lipozap procedure be painful? The answer is that you might feel slight discomfort but generally wouldn't feel pain.

I started Lipozap Treatments Feb. 07. Lower abs, upper abs and back bra line ($2800), The nurses and tech’s are incredibly thorough, and their customer service skills are comparable to any 5 star hotel. My first treatment was to my lower abs. They did not lie. The procedure was virtually painless. However by the time I returned home 30 mintues later it was all I could do to get through the front door. When I complained I was told the first treatment is always the hardest. My 2nd visit was to treat my upper abs and bra line. Again, little pain during the actual procedure, but, I was in so much pain on the way to the parking lot I felt as though I might pass out and seriously considered calling the paramedics. By the time I got home the tears were rolling down my cheeks. I stayed on my couch for 3 days, trips to the bathroom were my only exercise as I couldn’t even bear eating. It was agony. The uncontrollable spasms in my legs curled my toes and made my right shoulder ache. I spent considerable time discussing my pain with the nurse who called to do the follow up. The following week I spoke with an Administrator. She stated ½ treatments would remedy the pain and swelling and made jokes about a man who'd gone snow skiing the day following his treatments. They did their best to console me. I asked for a refund but they assured me 1/2 treatments with longer intervals between treatments would remedy the situation.Treatment #3 & 4 were halved. However nothing changed. Pain, swelling, spasms. Again I spoke with nurses and Admin. The head nurse laughed and told me she'd had the procedure and not only finished her work day, but had even returned to work the following day with no pain and minor swelling. A few days later, still in severe pain I again asked for a refund. This time I spoke with the Retention Administrator who after discussing my situation for 45 minutes became thoroughly upset when I suggested getting my orthopedic surgeon involved, She went so far as to began screaming at me. After calming her down, can you believe I had to calm her? She offered to refund a VERY small portion of my fully paid treatment. Now 3 months later, "maybe" I see some results. I've spoken repeatedly with Admin. Staff, they've REFUSED, even though their advertisments state, "Money Back Guarantee" if not completely satisfied. Now the interesting thing is I've had major back surgery and this procedure is causing horrible swelling in my back culminating in severe spams to my legs. To put it mildly, I hurt. The ab swelling has gone down but the lumps are still present, and my back still hurts. Since they won't return my money I had decided to continue treatment, however, yestersay I had 1/2 treatment # 5. I feel like I was kicked in the back & yes, I do look like I'm 6 months pregnant. – I Would NOT recommend Lipozap. - TO MY WORST ENEMY! - I'm seriously considering seeking legal remedies

I am sorry to hear that you had a negative reaction to the Lipozap treatment. But, I guess that can happen with any treatment.

For me, I was sore for a couple of days after each treatment - but it was nothing like liposuction. If you think Lipozap was uncomfortable - you will think you have died and gone to hell if you get Liposuction. I highly recommend that you do not get liposuction because the pain is 10 times worse. I had liposuction and I thought Lipozap was a walk in the park.

I lost 4 pants sizes after 3 LipoZap treatments and I have 1 left. I am really happy with the the results and I agree with you the people are thorough and the customer service is incredible. Best of luck to you.

I started my treatment in January. The actual procedure didn’t hurt, but I was sore and swollen, and itching for a few days after. I have never had liposuction so I can’t compare the two, but the pain after my LipoZap treatment was tolerable. I can only compare it to an extremely intensive workout after you haven’t worked out in a while.

Per the nurse’s recommendation, I spread my treatments out six weeks apart and it definitely got easier each time. I just had my last treatment in June and have already lost four inches around my waistline and an inch and a half on each thigh. I’ve had nothing but great service and great results. I even bought my mom a package for Mother’s Day and she is now a fan. I wish you could have had the same experience as me. This treatment was the best birthday present I could have given myself and I couldn’t be happier. I hope you get better soon.

I started Lipozap in March 2007, lower abs, hips and thighs. My nurse(s) and assistant(s) gave me all sorts of tips--I asked many, many questions, and they never lost patience, and only acted pleased that I was so interested in getting the best results possible, with the least pain possible. The first was the worst, but I was fully prepared and what happened was exactly what they told me would happen. So I had my first one done on a Friday at lunchtime, I didn't go back to work, took it easy, and rested the next day, which was a Saturday. Yes, I was sore. And swollen. But, they told me this would happen and the best way to minimize this was to take the Bromein religiously both before and after treatment; take either tylenol or other anti-inflamatory remainder of day, tylenol pm to sleep. The worst is the next morning. You will be sore. BUT, if you just roll over, take another tylenol or 2, take the Bromein as directed, take it easy, no bath, no serious activity, you should be able to just get thru the day. But really, really try to have no obligations that first day afterwards. Then, the second day, the pain was still there when I woke up, but much less severe, took 2 tylenol and Bromein, swelling much much better, pain much much better, did normal activities. By Monday I was back at work and nobody knew I had just been Lipozapped.

The first treatment to each area is the most difficult, the second is easier, and by the 3rd, I was going back to work and out to dinner after work on the same day as the treatment. I had to be patient about not working out the following day because I could have, the pain was very minor, but the nurses told me to still take it easy, so I did.

Also, wearing the compression garments is very important for good results. Also, drink lots of water.

I'm skinnier now than on my wedding day, lost 2 inches off each thigh, 4 off my hips, 1-1/2 off waist, and that's AFTER working out at Curves almost every day for a year. Lipozap got rid of the fat that wasn't going to be gotten rid of any other way. I love what it has done for me.

I started the LipoZap procedure in February and I am so happy I did. I did my upper abs, lower abs, love handles and bra roll. As I was told i did swell and have some muscle soreness but it was a real walk in the park for the results I received! I lost over 5 inches off my waisline. I have a flatter stomach and I can fit into my old clothes again! I did have a lot of nodules which I have now learned is an amazing effect of the treatment as now I know that those are fat cells that will dissolve and will be gone forever. I have had a few friends that have done liposuction and they have had horrible results!!! One friend that did her stomach now has uneven results - it looks like they left fat in some areas and took too much fat out of other areas! She seriously looks deformed! Another one of my girlfriends has had to get another surgery after her initial liposuction to fix the scar tissue problem that formed under her skin and she is so upset that she ever had liposuction. Liposuction is scary and you never know what you are going to get until after you have woken up from the procedure and your body starts its healing process. With LipoZap I was able to see how my body was changing throughout the whole procedure. I now have a smoother flattened stomach, my love handles and bra roll are completely gone and I look fantastic! I am thinking of doing LipoZap in other ares now...I am going to do my outer thighs, buttocks and arms..I am going in next week to add these additional areas - I am a completly new woman and it feels great!!

So sorry to read of your experience.
I have had amazing results with LipoZap; with such minor discomforts, that I am seriously considering more treatments! I even drove all the way from the OC,because LipoZap was so incredible. There was swelling for a day, and minor muscle fatigue post treatment. But my headaches cause me a worst pain than any of my LipoZap treatment ever did.
I do hope you are on your way to your own amazing results. LipoZap has given me invaluable self confidence that we all truly deserve.

Posters like the Lady2Soothe UrSoul get me irritated. She starts out saying what a great service LipoZap has and how they were so accommodating, including all sorts of staff and management concerned about her problem and discussing options. Note that she mentions that she has had many people call her and try to make it work out for her. They went the extra mile. That has been my experience with LipoZap.

Then she goes on to state what severe agony that she was in – believe me this procedure is not surgery or the pain associated with it. But she is so incredibly brave ( I am being sarcastic) to go through with all of the treatments and now she wants her ALL of her money back. She sounds like a scammer to me. She sounds like those women who go to Nordstroms with shoes that have been worn for a year and state that they want their money back because they don’t like the looks of them. I never saw a guarantee that said that you get your money back if you are not totally happy from Lipozap. That would be crazy. Then everyone could get great results and say that they are not happy just to get their money back. No business would ever say that – especially on a medical procedure. She is delusional.

I am sorry, but I have ethics and I believe in doing what is right. It sounds from her explanation that the Lipozap people tried everything to make her happy and even offered her a refund earlier (she says small – but does this mean that she wanted a bunch of free treatments for nothing!?!?). Unethical people make my blood boil. Especially, when I have experienced nothing but caring and accommodating people during my treatment. Is the procedure without some discomfort – no, but it is definitely not the agony she describes. The only reason she is mad is because she did not get a free course of treatment – a very sad commentary on some people.

Good points healthygirl.

I underwrite insurance policies for medical practices in Southern California. The patients here perpetrate the most amount of fraud against their doctors than anywhere else in the US. Florida is a distant second. This is a well known fact in my industry.

I do not know why the patients here are more unethical than anywhere else in the nation. Typically, they are the loudest to complain and the first to threaten to sue. Generally, they make contradictory statements. But, it is always about getting treatment and not having to pay for it.

It must be something in the water here.

All perimenopausal women are intimately familiar with the tire that appears around the waist when your hormones start changing. I have always been an avid exerciser and have been lean my whole life so I was horrified when this tire appeared around my midline that I couldnt get rid of, no matter what I tried. Lipozap did the trick in just 2 sessions that I've had so far. My gym clothes don't have that bumpy line underneath it anymore. I can't tell you how thrilled I am with Lipozap. The pain that I had was no more than after a big ab workout at the gym. I had planned a quiet day at home after each treatment but found myself not needing to rest, although I was careful with my movements. I was back in the gym the second day after each treatment, (even though they tell you not to) doing cardio and weights without a problem.

I went on my annual spa weekend trip with my friends right after my first treatment and had a massage which may have helped with the lumps, because I really didn't have very many, and the few that I had went away quickly. I asked the massage therapist to "knead" the area which I think helped. I was also religious about wearing the compression garment. I had some bruising however because I bruise easily. I think that Lipozap is the easiest cosmetic procedure available that gives great results.

I can't imagine why lady2soothe_ursoul would ever continue to have all of those treatments with all the pain and swelling that she supposedly had...and to do it again right after she had "major back surgery"?? Especially since she knew about the swelling. Is she crazy? I agree with healthygirl, lady2soothe sounds like a classic scammer to me. We all know the type-can't wait to sue everyone and spoil good things for the rest of us. I cant imagine anyone on that staff being rude. I am in the medical field and I haven't been in any medical office that has a more professional, courteous and helpful staff.

I, of course, wanted to reshape my big hips and buttocks like many, many women my age. Even though my husband is a physician, the idea of undergoing surgery, especially an elective one like liposuction, made me a bit uneasy. Particularly since I have 2 young children.

So a nonsurgical procedure like Lipozap sounded ideal to me. My husband, being a physician, thoroughly checked out the procedure and the the facility before he would give me his blessings to perform LipoZap.

My experience was similar to other posters in this blog. I had some discomfort the first and second day after my first treatment which lessened with each successive treatment. I love that it did not slow down my busy "minivan Mom" lifestyle.

I get compliments all of the time on my newly shaped figure. The most common comments are " have you lost weight - you look great" Most of the time I take credit for my results by saying it is due to diet and exercise (unfortunately, that is not true)!!!

Now, my husband is an advocate of the procedure and recently started his lipozap treatments. Lipozap is really an amazing procedure which combines safety, lifestyle and results.

Lipozap works. Period. No surgery and I lose my love handles and stomach fat - what a fricken miracle!! Yeah, there is some very mild discomfort - but I worked out HARD the next day after treatment. Gotta have some serious psych issues to think that this is too much discomfort when the only other alternative is surgery. Lipozap Rocks!!!!

They have tons of patients now - but wait till a year from now when other people discover LipoZap. You won't be able to get an appointment there. This is going to bigger than Botox.

I have tried both Liposuction and Lipozap procedures. I have experienced same amount of discomfort in both. After completing all of my recommended sessions, I found lipozap not as effective. Honestly, I have regrets about getting a lipozap. Although, I agree the service was some what exceptional but no significant results. I know people who done these procedures and more are satisfied with liposuction results. Which do I recommend the most? None, I found great success in eating my regular meals in small portions. For example, instead of eating three times a day, I would eat same amount of food in eight meals a day (every 2 hours). Plus, 3 times a week at a gym low weight strenght traning. 3 sets of 25-30 reps per major muscle group. This plan not only provided me with healthier way to loose weight (68 lbs in 9 months.) but also my energy level increased. Truthfully, I wish I started this plan before I wasted my time and energy with these quackery procedures. I’m now 100% satisfied with the way I look and feel. I am grateful to my self-acceptance and patience than I am to those charlatans who thrive on modifying people to their Ideal. Could I have gotten these results without these procedures? It would have taken me another 6 months or so to reach my goal and the answer is yes!

Hope this helps and good luck to all.

The above poster (Cane or Linda) has many discrepancies in her story which do not make it believable. I would like to point out the real facts which show that her comments are not truthful.

1) No Plastic Surgeon nor Lipozap would treat a patient who is 68 pounds over weight. Neither procedure is for weight loss. They both are for body contouring. Just call either one and they will confirm this. There is no way that she had either procedure.

2)Liposuction and Lipozap are proven to be successful for body contouring. No question.

3)She says that she has had Lipozap before she dieted and exercised. Lipozap takes about 3 months to complete. She then stated dieted and exercised for 9 months to lose 68 pounds after LipoZap was completed.

Let's do the math. Lipozap opened to the public January 1 of this year. The Lipozap treatment takes about 3 months. Supposed she started January 1. She would have been done with her treatment about April 1. Then she states that she started her diet for 9 months to lose 68 pounds. This would bring her to to December 31st 2007. Her blog is dated October 5 2007. She obviously made this up.

All plastic surgeons and Lipozap would encourage weight loss and exercise to lose weight before these procedures. Liposuction and Lipozap procedures are just to smooth out bulges AFTER you have lost the weight.

As a side note, if she lost 68 pounds in 9 months she would have a lot of excess hanging skin on her abdomen. The only way to improve this is a tummy tuck.

Cosmetic procedures do work. But they are not for everyone. I can understand that. But, to make up lies just because you don't want to undergo a cosmetic procedure is deceptive.

I got great results on my abs and love handles when I was done. But, the areas got even better over the next 4 months after I stopped treatment. I guess more swelling went away. I am totally happy. I just thought that I would mention this because no one else did.

I started lipozap 6 months ago and had my last treatment about 3 months ago. I look like I lost 10-15 pounds but I only lost 3-4 pounds. At first I was pretty swollen and I couldn't tell if it was working but they told me that the fat was already gone and the puffiness was just water from swelling. For 2 months after my last treatment, I kept shrinking. I don't know anything about mesotherapy, so I can't compare it. I would definitely recommend lipozap. Good Luck!

I think all of you are really missing the Big Picture here. It is truly an AMAZING breakthrough that you can flatten fat bulges safely and without having to undergo surgery. Incredible!!!!

I went from a size 38 pants to a size 32 pants. Yes, there were some side effects but it was very tolerable for me. I would not have believed it if I didn't see it myself. It is a miracle. I am totally blown away! So are my friends and family.

hi all, it seems that a lot of you had great experiences with liopzap. I just started my first treatment today. I have some pain but advil helps. I have a lot of swelling of my abs. I am getting worry, I read some other blogs and I saw a report on cbs news about lipozap and that all the negative things about it. I really don't know what to do, should I stop and get my money back or should I continue. Any advice? Help please!!!!`Does it work? is the swelling going to go away?

ek - the swelling is totally normal it will mostly go away in 2-4 days. By the way, my abs was the area that swelled up the most for me also. The best part is when the rest of swelling goes goes down and you see your fat bulge get smaller....it is very exciting!!!

I was told the swelling means it is working. Soon it will get to the point that you will look forward to the swelling after the treatment because you know you will see improvement.

I am very happy for you. You are starting a very exciting adventure. Hang in there it is very rewarding to say the least. Good luck and enjoy! If you have any more questions I would call in and ask to speak with a nurse. They are so nice and helpful. They are awesome.

Definitely, the belly swells the most but goes away quickly. It is a small price to pay for a flat stomach.

Like Patina said, hang in there, it is well worth it. If you really think about it, some swelling is alot better than going under the knife for liposuction. I am still in awe how good it works

I consider myself a long time connoisseur of cosmetic procedures. I had liposuction when plastic surgeons were calling it "barbaric" (it was invented by a dermatologist). I had radial keratotomy to correct vision and then LASIK to fine tune my vision years later. I used Botox before it was FDA approved (FDA approved in 2002) as well as fillers.

All of these procedures met with sensational negatives by stodgy old school uninformed doctors and news reporters. I am a nurse, however, and thoroughly checked out these procedures before doing them.

Now all of these procedures are widely accepted. Lipozap is going the the same trial by fire by naysayers. But, it has even a greater safety profile than all of the procedures that I previously mentioned. And the medications have been safely used for over a decade worldwide (I do my homework).

Of course, being an early adopter, I was one of the first to try LipoZap. It defintely works in flattening bulges and definitely has annoying but tolerable side effects which are temporary. It is such an amazing thing to be able to reshape your body without surgery that I predict it will be bigger than Botox. Mark my words

I am currently getting lipozap. I am not having an easy time with it though. I take a long time to get rid of the swelling and I would have quit earlier except that I am desperate. I am in my sister's wedding in 3 months and the entire wedding party looks like f------ barbies except for me. I am really glad I stuck with it even though I had bad swelling because it is definitely working.

I am built like a lite bulb. I have broad shoulders, huge bust, thick middle and skinny butt and thighs. Every time I lose weight, I lose it all over, I don't want my legs to get skinnier, I just want my middle to get smaller. I had lipozap on my mid sections and I am getting a waistline for the first time in my life. I have not lost any weight, but I look quite different. As a matter of fact, while I was swollen, I thought I had gained weight, but they told me it was just water from the swelling. I have one more treatment to go and I hate it, but I am determined to finish and look good for the wedding.

Would I recommend it? If you are a big baby - don't do it. The procedure is painless but the side effects are annoying. Was it worth it? Heck ya!

I am very saddened to hear of singer/songwriter Kanye West's Mothers death. According to TMZ.com it was after liposuction (http://www.tmz.com/2007/11/12/kanyes-mom-had-multiple-procedures/).

There is a comment about her death at: http://www.actressarchives.com/news.php?id=8667 which states:
"Anesthesia/sedation complications, aspiration problems, blood loss, and infection are listed as the primary risks involved in cosmetic surgery. Liposuction is generally regarded to be the most risky cosmetic surgery. According to a 2000 study, those who had liposuction between 1994 and 1998 were more likely to die than those who were in car accidents - a death rate regarded as unacceptable by most doctors."

I am very saddened by this news and am thankful that I had Lipozap instead. I had results that I am very happy with and never had to worry about safety. Lipozap technology has never had a serious complication over a decade of use worldwide. Why risk your life with liposuction when there is a safe procedure like Lipozap. It sickens me when plastic surgeons call liposuction the "safe gold standard" and a tragedy like this happens.

At November 12, 2007 at 8:55 PM , Blogger Made the Right Decision said...

That is very sad news. My heart goes out to her family.

This is exactly why I am currently treating with Lipozap instead of liposuction.

I made my decision after reading the FDA (United States Food and Drug Adminstration's opinion on liposuction) This is at:
http://www.fda.gov/cdrh/liposuction/risks.html

The FDA's formal position on liposuction states:
"What are the Risks or Complications Associated with Liposuction?
Risks

Take your time deciding if you are willing to accept the risks inherent in liposuction. Because it is usually a cosmetic procedure, and not medically necessary, there is no reason to rush. Gather as much information as you can so that you make an informed decision about whether liposuction is right for you. Don't believe that complications "only happen to other people." It is important for you to understand what the risks are and decide if you are willing to accept the possibility that it might happen to you.

Complications

Infections. Infections may happen after any surgery and may occur after liposuction. Some physicians prescribe an antibiotic to all patients undergoing liposuction but other physicians do not. It is important to keep the wound(s) clean but even if you do, infections may sometimes occur from the surgery. Sometimes, infections may be serious or life threatening such as in cases of necrotizing fasciitis (bacteria eat away at the tissue) or with toxic shock syndrome, a serious, sometimes fatal infection caused by a bacteria, that is associated with surgery (you may have heard of toxic shock syndrome occurring in women using tampons, also).

Embolism. Embolism may occur when fat is loosened and enters the blood through blood vessels ruptured (broken) during liposuction. Pieces of fat get trapped in the blood vessels, gather in the lungs, or travel to the brain. The signs of pulmonary emboli (fat clots in the lungs) may be shortness of breath or difficulty breathing. If you have the signs or symptoms of fat emboli after liposuction, it is important for you to seek emergency medical care at once. Fat emboli may cause permanent disability or, in some cases, be fatal.

Visceral Perforations (puncture wounds in the organs). During liposuction, the physician is unable to see where the canula or probe is. It is possible to puncture or damage internal organs during liposuction. This may happen, for instance, if the intestines are punctured during abdominal liposuction. When organs are damaged, surgery may be required to repair them. Visceral perforations may also be fatal.
Seroma. After liposuction, there may be a pooling of serum, the straw colored liquid from your blood, in areas where tissue has been removed.

Nerve Compression and Changes in Sensation. You may experience "paresthesias" which is an altered sensation at the site of the liposuction. This may either be in the form of an increased sensitivity (pain) in the area, or the loss of any feeling (numbness) in the area. If these changes in sensation persist for a long period of time (weeks or months) you should inform your physician. In some cases, these changes in sensation may be permanent.

Swelling. Swelling or edema may occur after liposuction. In some cases, swelling may persist for weeks or months after liposuction.
Skin Necrosis (skin death). The skin above the liposuction site may become necrotic or "die." When this happens, skin may change color and be sloughed (fall) off. Large areas of skin necrosis may become infected with bacteria or microorganisms.

Burns. During ultrasound assisted liposuction, the ultrasound probe may become very hot and can cause burns.

Fluid Imbalance. Fat tissue, which contains a lot of liquid, is removed during liposuction. Also, physicians may inject large amounts of fluids during liposuction. This may result in a fluid imbalance. While you are in the physician's office, surgical center or hospital, the staff will be watching you for signs of fluid imbalance. However, this may happen after you go home and can result in serious conditions such as heart problems, excess fluid collecting in the lungs, or kidney problems as your kidneys try to maintain fluid balance.

Toxicity from Anesthesia. Lidocaine, a drug that numbs the skin, is frequently used as a local anesthetic during liposuction. You may have had a similar drug, novocaine, to numb your mouth at the dentist. Large volumes of liquid with lidocaine may be injected during liposuction. This may result in very high doses of lidocaine. The signs of this are lightheadedness, restlessness, drowsiness, tinnitis (a ringing in the ears), slurred speech, metallic taste in the mouth, numbness of the lips and tongue, shivering, muscle twitching and convulsions. Lidocaine toxicity may cause the heart to stop. Of course, this can be fatal. In general, any type of anesthesia may cause complications and is always considered a risk during any surgery.

Fatalities Related to Liposuction. There are numerous reports of deaths related to the liposuction procedure. Although it is difficult to be sure how often death from liposuction happens, there are several studies that estimate how often patients undergoing liposuction die during the procedure or as a result of it. None of the studies is perfect so the results are just estimates.
Some of the studies indicate that the risk of death due to liposuction is as low as 3 deaths for every 100,000 liposuction operations performed. However, other studies indicate that the risk of death is between 20 and 100 deaths per 100,000 liposuction procedures. One study suggests that the death rate is higher in liposuction surgeries in which other surgical procedures are also performed at the same time. In order to understand the size of the risk, one paper compares the deaths from liposuction to that for deaths from car accidents (16 per 100,000). It is important to remember that liposuction is a surgical procedure and that there may be serious complications, including death."

I have a wife and kids to support. There is no way that I could justify the risks of liposuction. Lipozap's safety profile is what convinced me.

I'm a 30yr. old woman, I'm 5'6 145lbs. I have an athletic build but I have had cellulite on the upper back of my thighs & feel I have noticed a little pudge on my belly. I have fair skin & I tend to bruise easily. I tried the mesotherapy injections in Dec 2006. I only had 1 treatment for the back of my thighs, & stomach. I did not choose to continue the treatments because I bruised horribly from the procedure. I'am disappointed with my results. It has been almost 1year since I had mesotherapy injections in my belly & back of thighs. The bruises on my belly have broken down & are merely noticable, but the back of my thighs I have noticable bruises that worsen the appearance of my cellulite because the bruises resemble dimples. I have tried the procedure that uses the suction, heat, & radio waves hoping that it would improve the circulation in the back of my thighs & promote the brusing to heal but after receiving 10 treatments I still have permanent bruising on my thighs. Buyer beware

what is the procedure like?
i was always interested in getting lipozap soon as i have heard about it on the radio.
but i was curious how the process was...
i've watched something called laser cool lipo, where they pierce through the skin with a big needle with a laser on the tip, and just kidna of scrape/laser away the fat, and theyn they would suck out the excess fat with a hose...
and the results were amazing, and hte patients said there was no pain at all, and they didnt need any pain killers

is lipozap the same procedure?

Hi all... I am actually considering getting lipozaped this thursday! (That's in two days!) I have an appointment and now I HAVE to go or else they will charge me 50$!!! I don't have to get the procesure done, but I am really considering it. I weigh 128lbs and I'm 5*6 but i just cant get rid up the belly and love handles no matter how much I work out. I am also leaving for vacation outside the US. And I wont be back until Jan. 6. Should i still do it before going on vacation? Or should I wait? I dont want to be all bruised up or cranky when I'm on vacation with my family. Plus i dont really want them to know I'm getting it done. What should I do?

I have had 2 treatments so far. I am extremely unhappy with it. It is painful...don't believe otherwise. There is nothing worse than going through pain and having no results. I think it is a rip off and plan on speaking to someone tomorrow on this scam. Before you think I am extremely overweight...I am a size 5 and only weigh 133 at 5'4". I did everything they told me to. My 3rd session was suppose to be in 3 days. No way. This company is a rip off. Warning...Do Not Waste Your Money.

There are different types of lipozap treatments. I chose the one that was just FDA approved last year using lasers. I am very happy with the procedure and results.

The procedure was performed in their beautiful offices. The people were very nice.

The physician doing my procedure seemed very knowledgeable and experienced.

The procedure took about 3 hours and I was done. The results were immediate. They showed me that they took off 2 and one half inches off of may arms and flattened my saddlebags during that session.

I was tender for a couple of days and took it easy. The results got better after a few weeks when the swelling went down and the skin tightened.

I love the results and love that it was a one time procedure. I was awake during the procedure. This was important to me because general anesthesia scares me.

Would I do it again? Absolutely. It is a miracle of modern medicine. I would defintely recommend this procedure to anyone. I would chose this LipoZap procedure over the series of injections.

It has been exactly 2 weeks since I had laser lipo LipoZap on my belly. I am very active and slim, but my belly was full of fat that would not go away. The doc told me he removed about 2 pounds of fat and when I weighed this morning I am two pounds lighter, but I mostly see it in inches. I am still swollen, but even with the swelling, my tummy is much flatter than it was before the surgery. My belly finally matches the rest of my body!

It took about a week and a half before bending over was comfortable and they say I will be swollen for another couple of weeks.

The anxiety before the laser LipoZap is definitely the worst part of the whole experience. I barely felt the shot to numb me (it wasn't even as bad as a shot at the dentist). I was talking to the doctor during the whole procedure. She was quite nice. I quit taking the pain meds about 12 hours after the surgery because they made me feel sick. The pain I felt in my belly was just like the time I did way too many sit-ups in college. I had it done on a Friday and was back to work on Monday. I do recommend elastic waist pants and skirts because your skin will be tender.

I am so happy with the results and I am sure that you will be too. I know it is hard not to be anxious before the procedure, but that anxiety really is the worst part.

I am so jazzed! I just signed up for the LipoZap laser fat removal. After watching the Grammys and Kanye West's tribute to his Mom there was NO WAY that I would undergo liposuction under general anesthesia. I am vain, but not enough to risk my life!

The LipoZap laser takes off the fat in one treatment while you are awake. How cool is that. Definitely the way to go. Regular liposuction is the way of the PAST.

I had heard about LipoZap and decided that I would find out more information about it. I am a very active but I still had those trouble areas. While I was at a consultation for laser hair removal I asked about the procedure. It seemed harmless. The day of the procedure I was nervous..... but it passed. The procedure took about 3-4 hours and I had my lower stomach and hips done. I didn't feel a thing!!!! I noticed a difference immediately. It has been a little over 2 weeks since my procedure and I am THRILLED!!! The worst parts about the procedure was wearing the compression garment and not being able to exercise. The funny thing is... my first laser hair removal treatment was more painful than the LipoZap.

The above blogger unfortunately could not have our treatment due to medical reasons. We have strict medical criteria for treating and we will not treat anyone that we do not feel is medically appropriate.

We told the above patient that we could LipoZap her if she had a simple medical condition treated by her family physician. But she never had this condition treated and kept on coming back for LipoZap. So, of course, we kept on refusing to treat her. This made her angry, but there is no way we will LipoZap her until she gets her medical condition appropriately treated.

The bottom line is that she refused to get her medical condition treated so we kept on refusing to do LipoZap on her (as is medically appropriate). This made her mad but we refunded her money and still told her that she should get her basic medical condition treated for general health reasons. It would seem more prudent to get her basic medical condition treated for her own health reasons and then get LipoZapped. It also would seem much easier.

Unfortunately, no matter how irritated a client gets with us, we will NEVER treat a patient who is not medically appropriate. We wish her well and hope that she gets her medically condition treated before it causes her health problems in the future.

I just got my consultation for my Lipozap treatment and I was told that it was a one time procedure, but after reading all the comments, people made it sound like is more than one treatment in the same area, is that true? I only want my lower abdomen. One more thing they quoted me $2260, for one area with a discount that they gave me. Do that sound right?

Happy-Med Aesthetica has 2 different procedures. The one you're getting is a one time procedure. They also have a 3-time procedure that I heard is painful. I am getting the one time procedure done on April 23. If you would like to know how it goes, let me know. I check this website periodically.

marcy - i would like to know how your procedure went. i tried lipozap when they were only offering one type of treatment. i decided to stop treatment and seek a refund after two treatments because the side effects were more than i expected and although i was assured they were normal, i was not comfortable continuing. i only requested a refund for the unused treatments and although it took longer than i would have liked, i received a refund a few months after i stopped treatment. i would say it was frustrating that it took so long but i cant really complain. I guess my advice to anyone considering a treatment like this is to do your research, ask tons of questions, don’t sign up on the spot - go to the consultation and then go home and think about it. make sure you are clear about refund policies and don’t be afraid to ask for a copy of your file.

aj-My procedure went really good. The pain was very tolerable. As far as the results, I am not 100% satisfied......yet. I know I am still swollen so it would be unfair to the company to say I am not completely satisfied. I only had to take the pain med for the first 2 days and came back to work after 5 days, my choice. My stomach is approx 50-60% flatter. I can say that I do not have saggy skin, which was my biggest concern. To anyone who is thinking of getting Smartlipo-now called lipo lipolysis, go to a consultation and take everything they say literally. If they tell you 60-70% better do not expect more, like I think I did. You are probably not going to get the same results as a tummy tuck, but it is a lot less painful and you will not have as big of a scar, not to mention you can take a lot less time away from work. I honestly think this procedure was better for me because I am not very pain tolerant. I will definitely keep updating my comments for anyone interested in this, so if you can wait a few months, I think it would be worth it to hear my final results. I really wish that I had seen a portfolio of happy customers, but all I can offer is my truthful opinion. Please leave a comment if you are interested in knowing anything else about my experience, happy to share.

Healthygirl,

You’re irritated with me??… Pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I know for a fact you work for MedAesthetica Medical Group. Go back and read my file. All I asked for was the balance of the amount I had not used, be returned to me.

And stop posting all the hurrahs for Lipozap comments using anonymous names. They’re bogus! You do realize, as an employee of the corporation, you too are liable.

Anyone interested in joining the class action suit please follow the link below.
Also take the time to look at the Better Business Bureau Report - RipOff.com, check out the articles on the Internet including the major news networks, CBS, NBC, ABC etc.
Obviously I’m not the only one complaining!

Lipozap customers may be able to fight soon for some type of justice? Here's a website if ya got suckered out of your $ from lipozap, or have pain.

Here you go, here is a new website that warns about customers who tried and got lipozap treatments, or may be also for future patients? They do want to hear from former lipozap customers including what happened to them, and maybe if they want your money back, or an apology in case you still have pain? (I imagine). Here is the lipozap class action website. -

http://lipozap-class-action-lawsuit.com/lipozap-sham.html

and I quote "Here are the claimed problems with LipoZap that we are investigating:We have not been able to find scientific evidence that injecting “fat melting” solutions is safe, nor that shows that these injections work."

It's been almost a year (June 2007) since I had my last Lipozap Treatment.
I still have lumps and nodules which frequently send out painful bee string sensations. Discoloration is still present. I still look swollen and pregnant. My skin is lumpy. I'm making payments to Credit Care on a monthly basis, just to show good faith on my part so when we do finally get the class action suit settled (which unfortunately may be years) they’ll see I’ve fulfilled my part of the bargain - Lipozap refuses to return my calls, they also refuse to acknowledge the Better Business Bureau's inquiries.

By the way Healthy Girl and others who think I'm a scammer. Get your facts straight. I DID NOT say I JUST had back surgery. I said I'd had major back surgery. It had been more than 3 years. I did expect swelling but not to the degree I was swollen. I was told some MINOR swelling in the abdominal area would occur but it would resolve itself with 24-48 hrs. A year later as of June 29, 2008 (my last treatment) I still have severe discoloration, nodules, and swelling, and according to my Primary Care Physician, all are a direct result of LipoZap.

Also Healthy Girl, just because someone is caring, nice and gives good customer service does not in any way make the procedure reputable. The nurses and staff were very nice and helpful, but they too were conned into believing the procedure would work. At least 40 of those “caring” nurses and other “nice” staff members are no longer working for MedAesthetica Medical Group, Inc.

Again Healthy Girl and others like her. I DID NOT ask for all of my money back, I asked for the unused portion. Since I’d only received ½ of my treatments, I felt I should get half of my money back, which would have been about $1300. MedAesthetica offered me a $262.50 refund. This leaves me in the whole $1037.50.

I too work in the Ins. Industry and I know about scammers. Asking for an unused portion of a payment is not in any way unreasonable. SO before you start making broad assumptions and accusations, first off get your facts straight. Nothing I wrote was contradictory. I stated facts.

Unethical people make my blood boil too and since you’re part of the MedAesthetica staff that is paid to write derogatory statements about patients who demand they’re not ripped off by unethical companies, that makes you unethical! Just out of curiosity, how much does MedAesthetica pay for each blogg you write?

Because Lipozap deals with four ideal treatments.. I had my last treatment this afternoon on May 16. However, both my nurse and I agree that I have not seen any results. I am very concerned and I understand I will still have to go through the vela smooth machine in six weeks. Now it has been six weeks and one of their "consultants" called me and cancled my appointmentment! I called back to re-schedule and now MedAesthetica is NO LONGER in buisness!?!?!? i keep calling but there is no answer... i called my consultant and she no longer works for the company.. she said a whole bunch of people got laid off... b/c there was no buisness.. yet I paid 2200$ (for lower abs and love handles) and now i DONT get the VelaSMooth Lazer thing... they said something about crediting back but I'm so scared I wont get nothing.. is there anyone in my situation, if you are please email me !!! Maybe we can do somehting together to get our money back. Thanks.

I will need a refund of the full payment if I dont see any results. I am very concerned and did not pay all this money about 2000.00$ to still look the same.

I too had little problems with the actual treatments. I was sore for a couple of days and very swollen. My problem was that they changed my treatment plan twice during the process and at the final measurement appointment, their was almost no difference in my lower abs, and my upper abs were the same as when I started. I have been trying to get a refund for 3 months now, but no one will even return my calls or emails. I am getting ready to go to their offices in personal and refuse to leave until I talk to someone. Don't advertise a money back guarantee if you aren't going to back it up.

Im a 38 yr old fit male in good shape. I just had the hard too loose small love
handles and small amount of breast tissue (man boobs)that i could not loose.. The day of the consultation i went in with my wife. They convinced us both that this was a money back painless procedure and that we were perfect for the lipozap procedure..We were both in shape and in good health.. Well after paying for our procedures and on our way home my wife was skeptical about this. It was more like a sales pitch that suckerd us in..Well my wife had changed her mind so i asked them to refund her portion..They said no problem. At the same time i did my 1st procedure on my chest. It was very painfull. Lots of swelling, brusing and pain..Well after the 2nd procedure on my chest, there were no results in fact my personal doctor had said to stop doing it. Whatever they were injecting in me was breaking down muscle tissue and making my chest muscles soft making it look alot worse..I stop all procedures after the second one.The procedure left me looking real bad. My chest tissue had swelled up so bad that i had to cover up and see my medical doctor to remedy what had happend. .As far as the refund on my remaining portion and my wife portion, they did nothing. I made several call & emails with no answer. I had paid with a credit card and i had the credit card company handle the refund request after several attempts..They took 3 months to recredit my acct.. Is there a lawsuit against this company somewhere??
